Be Loud Radio

Be Loud Radio is a free program designed for DJs in 5th-8th ready to take their radio skills to the next level. The program will run every Saturday morning from 1000AM to 1200PM. We will be primarily working out of the 826 Writing Center (map here), but will also leave the building regularly for field reports, outdoor recording challenges, and to visit our friends at 102.3FM.

During this time, campers will become radio DJs- learning how to write, records, edit, and produce their own multimedia segments. We are so excited to spend our summer recording awesome content, learning how to use new equipment, and collaborating with new friends.

A one-week summer storytelling program for New Orleans teens to explore how Hurricane Katrina has shaped their lives, reflect on the storm’s legacy, and record original audio stories for future generations.

A collaborative podcast created by New Orleans teachers and students in the Pass The Mic Fellowship, featuring school-based reflections on technology, digital wellbeing, and how young people navigate a digital world.

Pass the Mic (Teacher Fellowship)

This school year, Be Loud is offering a fellowship experience for NOLA based educators interested in producing one audio project with their classroom. The program will run from October to April (schedule is TBD). Each participant will receive $500 worth of recording equipment for their classroom and a personal stipend ($1000) upon completing their project.
